22th Annual Game

Our co-sponsor is the Huntington Foundation for Excellence in Education (HFEE), the not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to enhancing educational opportunities for students in District 3.  Since its founding 10 years ago, HFEE has donated more than $225,000 to innovative classroom activities under its Mini and Star Grants Programs, projects such as a wild-life garden, a disability awareness workshop and, just last year, nearly $26,000 in state-of-the art technology at the high school.  The Foundation also sponsors three funds: the Field Trip Fund, so no child misses an educationally enriching trip due to need; the Greenkill Fund, which provides money to students who cannot afford the full cost of participating our top-ranked 6th grade environmental trip; and the Millennium Fund, underwritten by an anonymous donation received in '99 to grow over time and contribute significantly to all activities. Donations are tax deductible, so feel free to be as generous as you can.  No donation to the education of a child is ever lost.

Jamboree will have the 4/5/6th boys teams and a 4/5/6th girls clinic. The The youth games will be before the boys varsity game starting at 9:00 AM. The varsity girls coaches and players will run the girls clinic on the football field
The 2005 Blue Devils are ranked 3rd in the pre season rankings in division II small schools (class B and C). Head Varsity Coach Paul McDermott and Assistant Eric Triolo welcome new assistant coach Kip Lukralle to the coaching

Boys team will be a young team with a tremendous amount of talent. All County/empire goalie four-year starter captain Charley Paar will lead the Devils defense along with Four-year starting defenseman and captain Eric Posner. Joining Eric on defense will be retuning juniors Rob Shannon, Tom Marchhart and a strong group of young defensemen.

The midfield will be very strong but young, as the Devils will be counting on talented sophomores and juniors to support returning All County and Empire junior Midfielder Scott Kocis, seniors Adrian Marino and Billy Kingston to give Huntington two top-flight midfields
The attack will be very inexperience but talented.  Zach Howell Suffolk county division II rookie of the year at middie will be moving to attack. Returning attackmen expected to contribute are juniors John Henry McNierney, Austin Carino and Mike Roman.
The Huntington Girls Lacrosse team is anticipating a great year in League II.  Each member of the team is looking forward to the start of a new era for the program.  The Lady Devils start the season ranked #1, which is both a compliment and a test.  A steady senior class will lead the team, as well as a strong group of returning underclassmen looking to make their mark.  The girls are looking forward to a new start and a successful year.

The 21st alumni game was a great day with great weather and the Alumni family BBQ after the game; this event showcased the sprit of the Huntington Lacrosse family.  The day started off with a Varsity game against one of Suffolk Countys new up and coming teams, Blue Point Bayport (BPBP). The alumni were proud to show off the history and sprit of the Huntington lacrosse with the BPBP players, coaches and parents inviting them to participate and to join in the festivities at the alumni day family BBQ in the sprit Huntington Lacrosse.

The women played with sprit and enthusiasm while competing against old teammates and friends. The action was up and down the field all day.  Tricia Martin scored a bunch of goals. 25 players played in the inaugural alumni game. Melissa Kalfas and Caroline Turner played in tough in the goal. The class of 96 & 97 were represented well women will be missing Melissa Kline this year due to her and Greg Kliness first child expected any moment. The first womens alumni game was a success and a great addition to the alumni day festivities.
The mens game started as usual with the old men getting some early action and slowly giving way to the younger players. The play was back and forth with some great passing and dodging to test the goalies all day.  Seven first year alumni players added to the old timers enthusiasm with those young legs. Last year, the odd team won in a close contest, 11 9. The dynamic duo of Shanley and Martin lead the way for the odd team, along with Kyle Kirst who was wall in goal, turning away point blank  shot after shot.

The BBQ and family atmosphere was the highlight of the day. Sponsorships/benefactors who can afford $100.00 are needed to keep this BBQ fringe benefit please contact Hutch @ 631-427-3092 or Jerry Nigro @ 518-373-2505 if you can help.

The alumni association presented high school players Lindyn Soviero and Pat Nastro, with the Alumni Award in appreciation of their team leadership and all-out effort.
