I have started a new job that will prevent me from attending most of the remaining games. I hope to get some reports of  games from other parents to post.
HH Hills West @ Huntington May 17th
The last regular season game was Hills West vs. Huntington. Hills West played hard and with a lot of spirit. Hills West kept it close in the first quarter. Huntington's Jimmy Creighton got the first goal of the game. Hills West was able to tie, as Huntington's goalie was caught out of the cage when a clearing pass did not connect and led to an easy goal.  The Devil's offense got the lead back ,which they never gave up the rest of the game, as Logigian found a cutting Tim MacAleavy for the score. Jimmy Creighton got his second of the game as MacAleavy feed him for the score. Huntington gave one back as # 27 made nice move to get one back for Hills West to end the first quarter at 3-2. Huntington controlled the second quarter; they scored the next 4 goals. Pat Nastro got on the Devil's start as he converted a pass from Creighton off a loose ball situation. Jimmy Creighton got his third goal of the game unassisted. Tim MacAleavy got his second, again off an unsettled loose ball situation. Pat Nastro got his second of the game as he beat his man off the dodge to give Huntington a 7-2 lead. Hills West got one back to make it 7-3. HH Hills East @ Huntington April 27th
In a game between cross town rivals Hills East got possession and with 47 seconds gone in the first quarter scored on a drive from the left side to score the first goal of the game. . Huntington was stopped by the Hills goalie Mike Rimmer on numerous chances  as the first quarter ended with Hills in the lead 1-0. The second quarter was all Huntington on the scoreboard. Both teams fought and played hard throughout the quarter. Huntington got on the board on an unassisted  goal from Tim McAleavey. The game was played at both ends of the field as both teams played good defense limiting good offensive chances. Huntington's Chase Caruso was able to strip the ball from whoever he was guarding to keep Hills offense from getting many shots on goal. Huntington slowly started to control the game on offense but they were foiled by some great saves and some badly placed shots. Jimmy Creighton score the next two goals, the first on a pass from Mark Boccard and the second off a set play with the assist going to Brandon Logigian. The score at the half was Huntington 3 Hills East 1. The second half was all Huntington as the defense was able to stop the Hills offense with good defense and some great saves by Billy Liedke.  Pat Nastro was able to break free and go in on the goalie one on one for the score. Brandon Logigian gave the Devils a 4 goal margin as he put the ball in the net off the feed from Mark Boccard. Jimmy Creighton got the Hat Trick on an unassisted goal to make it 6-1 Huntington. I did not arrive till after the 3rd quarter had started. Huntington had already removed their starters. The reserves got a lot of minutes and were able to gain some good experience. Logigian scored again with Jimmy Creighton scoring off the pass from Boccard to finish the scoring for the quarter. The Devils went to the half leading 8-2. The action in the second half was slower for the Devils as they only scored two goals in the 3rd quarter. Tim McAleavey got his second of the game with the assist going to Boccard.  McAleavey scored his third of the day this time assisted by Pat Nastro after a beautiful 5 pass sequence as the whistle sound to end the quarter.. Long Beach scored the the first two goals of the last quarter to cut the Devils lead to 10-4.  John Fulton scored the final goal of the game with a nice bounce shot into the upper corner of the net. Final 11- 4 Devils. The goaltending was split with Billy Liedke and Charlie Paar both only letting in two goals each. Both goalies made some great saves. The defense smothered Long Beach all day taking them out of their offensive patterns forcing bad passes throughout the contest.
Huntington @ Smith town Jamboree March 23rd
On a cold extremely windy day not fit to play lacrosse the Smithtown Jamboree hosted Huntington St. Anthony’s, Brewster, Oceanside and Garden City. The Devils started off the day playing Garden City. In a close contest with each team having some good play that went back and forth the Trojans had a slight 2 goal lead at the end of the scrimmage. Next the Devils played the host Smithtown. Huntington never found their offense and the defense was under a lot of pressure most of the scrimmage Smithtown had a 3 or 4 goal advantage at the end of the scrimmage.  The Devils next played Brewster. Huntington controlled this contest creating numerous scoring chances throughout the scrimmage. There were some very good saves by the goalies on both teams. The Devils won this one by 4 or more goals. Next the Huntington squared off against the Sailors of Oceanside. This one went in the favor of the Devils. The Devils again had a lot of offensive chances that they did not finish.  Huntington won this one by 3 goals. Huntington’s last opponent of the day was St Anthony’s in a rematch of last week at Freeport. In what appeared to be a short scrimmage the Devils held off St. Anthony’s leading by 3-0 at the end of the scrimmage.. Over all it was a good day as all got to play and the competition was good.
Commack @ Huntington March 21st
Finally, the first game of the season on a beautiful day for lacrosse. The Devils were in control the whole game. Huntington drew first blood off the opening face off as Pierre Delva took the ball clean to start a fast break passing to Pat Nastro for the score. Commack tied the score at 1 which was the last time the game was close. The Devils won most of the face offs in the first quarter as they took an 8-1 lead. The Devil's scorers were Boccard, Nastro, Logigian, Kingston (assist Fulton), Fulton (assist Logigian), Kingston,  and Delva. Mark Boccard scored Huntington's only goal of the quarter. Commack again scored the first goal of the quarter and the Devil's John Kingston (assist Logigian) had the last goal of the game. Final Huntington 15-5. Everyone saw action today.
Huntington @ Northport Scrimmage March 14th
Northport controled the ball on their offensive half of the field from the start and throughout the scrimmage.  Huntington scored the first goal of the scrimmage but Northport could not be stopped the rest of the scrimmage. Northport look like a team that had been practicing all winter and they took it to the Devils all day. Northport's goalie was great stopping a lot of good scoring opportunities. Huntington looked like it was their first scrimmage.
Freeport Multi Team Scrimmage
Huntington matched up with Massapequa to start the day. It was a close contest throughout the scrimmage with both teams trading goals. Massapequa edged the Devils by about two goals.  The Devils played much better today on both ends of the field.
Next up for the Devils was St. Anthony's. St. Anthony's jump out in front at the start of the scrimmage and held the advantage most of the scrimmage. This was a good competitive  contest.
The host Freeport was next for the Devils. This game was physical from the start as both teams were very aggressive. The Devils held the advantage in this one.
Last up was Longwood. The Devils again held the advantage in this one. Play was back and forth with a lot of fast breaks and some sloppy play as both teams looked tired.  Over a very good day with a lot of improvement on both defense and offense.
